SNTOA Meeting Notes
September 09, 2008
Call to Order 10:12
In attendance: Dan Schindler, John J Hurley Jr., Dustin Kuntz, Shep Harper, Brian Preciado, Pete Fiori, Allyn Kemp, Tim Winfield, Don Richert.
Approval of Agenda
Pete Fiori made a motion to approve the agenda, Dustin Kuntz seconded and a motion was passed to approve the agenda.
Approval of Minutes
Tim Winfield made a motion to approve the minutes, Dustin Kuntz seconded and a motion was passed to approve the minutes.
Treasurers Report
Pete Fiori reported that the checking account had a balance of $5304.34 and the Savings Account had a balance of $7835.52. Pete stated that all bills were paid.
Communications
No written communication
Chief Liaison, Chief Preciado stated that the Solano Fire Chief’s Association voted to restore Solano College’s ability to conduct SFM courses immediately and that SNTOA will be working with Solano Community College to start hosting Level 1 and Level 2 and Red Card classes. Don Richert and John Hurley will be working with Roy Pike to determine which classes need to be taught.
Classes
Command 1A,1B,1C will be hosted by Cordelia Fire starting December 7 taught by Mike Arnold. Class will cost $150.00. Flyers to be sent.
Hazmat IQ will be hosted by Vacaville Fire on December 10th put on by IEC.
Strategy and Tactics for Initial Company Officers will be hosted by CMF on November 19th and 20th at Vacaville Fire District on Vine Street. This is a NFA Class
Fire Command 2C (High Rise) will be hosted by SNTOA with a projected time frame of December 2008, Harper to coordinate.
Fire Management 2B (Financial Management) will be hosted by SNTOA with a projected time frame of the first quarter 2009. Mackenzie to coordinate.
Fire Management 2C (Labor Relations) will be hosted by SNTOA with a projected time frame of the second quarter of 2009. Fiori to coordinate.
Driver operator 1A and 1B will be taught in Cordelia
by Jay Huyssoon starting September 10th and 11th.
Trench Rescue will be taught by Vacaville starting on October 21 on a shift schedule, may have extra spots. Harper will let departments know.
Rescue Systems 1 Shep Harper discussed having a class on October 13 thru 17 with Kent Freeman being the instructor. Harper stated that OES had money to be able to host the class. More information to come. Will try to get personnel from each department. A second class is in the process of being offered on a volunteer schedule. More info to come.

New Business
Brian Preciado brought up the ideal that Solano and Napa split and change to name to Solano Training Officers Association due to no participation by Napa. Pete Fiori made a motion and Dustin Kuntz seconded to start the process of changing the Constitution and Bylaws to reflect the changes and be brought back to the October meeting.
Good of the Order
Pete Fiori with Benicia started that they have gone thru some overhead changes and that Tim Winfield will be Benicia’s new Training Officer. Pete also stated that he will continue to be Treasurers until 2009 when new officers are elected.
Brian Preciado stated that Vacaville will be hosting the Chief’s Installation Dinner in January and that all are invited. Brian also stated that all officers are invited to the Chief’s Meetings.
Don Richert stated that any fire department that had
burnt hose can come pick it up at the station, if not let Travis know so they
can toss it.
